I just wanted to share that my Hot Wheels just got its third compliment this week!

I drove a 2016 2SS for 2-1/2 years and a 2013 ZL1 for 2 years. This Hot Wheels has gotten more attention in 2 months!

Best was when a mother, with her two very young boys, walked up and took pictures as I was leaving my parking spot at the food store.

This car is a looker!

Hey club Hot Wheels. Has anyone identified the part numbers for the things that are specific to our cars?

The rear stripes (84202996) and ground effects package (84205222) are listed in the accessories guide. What about...

Front stripes
Tail panel stripe
Fender badges
Front grill
Spoiler
Rims, front/rear
Rim centers
Floor mats
Steering wheel
Shift knob
Console lid
Door panels
Seat belts
Brake calipers

Any connected parts people out there?

More proof that dealerships need better instructions or better people. I think that is the first time I've seen the stripes put under the 3rd brake light. Think most the ones I've see, including mine, are above. At this point, I have no idea which is supposed to be right. Problem is there should be no difference in any of them.

they put the stripes on wrong.

Welcome to the club REIGHARD55. Looks like your dealer needs to order a new set of stripes

Saw a Hot Wheels car in person for the first time today, great looking car. The orange crush is an awesome color. You Hot Wheels owners definitely have a cool looking car.

The question is, who warranties the strip install. I have a dealer 5 min from work but they wont touch them. They say the selling dealer has to fix the problem. I don't have the time to drive 70 miles one way. You would think it was part of the package not an after market add on so any dealer would do the warranty work. The local dealer says no, it has to go to the dealer that installed them.

ANY Chevy dealership can warranty it. It’s part of the bumper to bumper. The dealership saying no is in the wrong. They just don’t want to deal with it because warranty work pays different than say if you came in and paid for it out of pocket. They are being lazy/greedy.

Actually, this is sorta gray area. I am fairly certain that a dealership does not have to warrant another dealership’s work. Since final installation of the stripes is done at Dealership A, I am not certain that Dealership B has to be responsible for fixing it under warranty. I know this is definitely true of customer pay work, but not sure how it is handled for Dealer Installed Options. Maybe Becky can chime in on this. She would know for certain.

Didn’t think of it that way Martin. I was more looking at it as doesn’t matter who services the vinyl it’s part of the oem equip that came with the car. I typed faster than my brain comprehended. But I see what you’re saying. Yeah this might be tricky. Curious though why the Hot Wheels is an LPO for vinyl yet the 50th was factory installed.

The installing dealer is responsible for the quality of installation of the LPO.. ...The stripe that is installed is only the rear piece...the rest are factory installed.

IMHO: I would take care of the repair - and hopefully win a customer -
(Although the repair would not be warranty reimbursed.)

By the way...
I have a Hot Wheels Coupe - Available...

I think its crap. I bought two Hot Wheels and really don't have the time to run all over. The 2SS has a strange melted spot on the front wiper cowl. I noticed it when i had gotten home with the SS the day i picked it up May 4th, I picked up the 2LT conv HW on May 10th and showed it to the salesmen. I took a picture and sent it to him that day along with the rear strip issue. Now the local dealer says they can't help with that and the selling dealer wants me to bring it by so the service manager can look at it. That means that with the time stamped picture that shows May 10th i will still have to drive 280 miles back and forth from the selling dealer to get this taken care of. What a pain in the a,,. Now the A8 shutter has now started, very annoying. Will they tow it due to the shutter.
I traded in my Challenger Hellcat for the SS. I bought a 2008 Challenger SRT the first year they came out and traded it for the 2017 Hellcat. I was at the dealer with my Challengers one time in 10 years for the airbag recall. That's it, one time in 10 years. It may be time to go shopping. Three problems with the GM in 6 months and all 3 are a pain to deal with. The A8 fix will not be out till the first quarter of 2019. REALLY!!!

Your local dealer should do the A8 warranty work. I bought my 16 A8 from Becky (out of state) and it was no problem getting it corrected locally.

I had three issues with my 16 2SS that similarly frustrated me. The A8, headliner replacement and parasitic battery drain. My 04 GTO was only at the dealer once in +11 years for the gas cap recall. (I did all other maintenance work myself)

The headline was replaced, I took the aftermarket LED marker lights off and the battery drain stopped. The A8 was fixed with a new TC but I lost confidence in the transmission long term and traded it for this manual. My fingers are crossed for a repeat of the GTO’s great ownership experience.
