ZL1 has same exhaust as the SS, so stock is pretty good. There was a slight harmonic with front cat delete CA, much worst when I went to LT and no cats, Once I put cats on the LT with stock cat back, it is perfect. I have an M6. So IMO, all exhaust need a cat right after the header, at least for the M6. Cats really make the exhaust sound more responsive sounding. IMO I would wrap the starter because of heat, do the off road head pipes, the ones that replace all 4 cats (New Era Performance), and install, 2 high flow cats, I’d do 2 and three quarters as the factory exhaust header is 2.1 ID AFAIK. Should be about stock quiet.

Unless you are planning on making 800rwhp or more, stick with the P-1X.
Save the $$$ and just enjoy your car making the power you want. I have tuned P-1X cars that even with stock exhaust, stock intake run in the mid-tens. (higher then stock boost, + meth systems) Your goal is very very easy as long as you have the fuel there.
