Huh, that's interesting. Maybe I'll try a different pair and see what happens. I just have a regular pair of Ray Bans that I've been using for many years. They do a wonderful job of cutting glare, but the HUD disappears. Maybe the angle of the polarization is different on my glasses -- if you rock your head back and forth, you can see that it significantly changes how much glare is blocked. About 45* one way or the other and I can see the HUD just fine, but at the same time the dash becomes very bright... :(. Can't win.

Great car. Best track value currently available. Here are the annoyances at more than 31k miles:
Again, the fastest track car I've driven. This car gets a lot of questions and comments for the price of it. It can keep up with cars that cost $25k more all day on the track. GM guarantees drivetrain coverage in unmodified cars when experiencing a failure at the racetrack. I'm not sure Porsche or Ford would do the same. |

1SS 1LE here.
1. The stereo does suck, but the LT1 sound track more than makes up for it. I don't plan on spending money to upgrade the sound system anyway. 2. The most disappointing feature is the lack of storage space for things. The glovebox is a bit of a joke and the center console even more so. 3. Electronic parking brake. Would have rather had a good ol' fashioned handle.

And at that point it disappears with sunglasses on (polarized at least but I don't own non polarized ones). So I leave it at the nighttime brightness setting and just don't bother using it during the day.

I've never hit the PTM button on the street or track. I've seen others talk about that before as well but I just don't see how it's possible unless you are grabbing the base of the shifter or something?

The NPP/MUFFLER SUITCASE.. I hate it.
Why not do dual mufflers??? Also, look under the rear end just before that suitcase the exhaust on both sides has a flat kink in them. The SS BADGE on the Bumper.. I like it better in the trunk area like the GEN5 For those DYI oil change.. relocate the drain plug in the middle. The roll-on lift I use when draining oil from time to time hits the side of the lift making a hell of a mess. I made a little metal splash guard now from learning it's going too happen. Draining the tranmission fluid and crossmember is a pain in the rear as well. Gen5 had no problems in drining the transmission fluid. Last edited by Ventura 1LE; 09-05-2018 at 11:46 AM. |

Interesting... how so? I am a complete novice when it comes to driving a stick and I loved the e-brake when I test drove an SS with the M6. Loved the fact I could set it when at a stop and it would automatically release when it sensed forward movement. |

The car has hill start assist also though making the parking brake switch not worth using in that use case.. So maybe just new drivers forgetting to use it when parking? No idea. Personally I don't trust it. New fancy electronics. Get off my lawn!
