Matt tore the motor down today since I was working and number 8 cylinder has some serious issues so its all coming apart and probably 10 thou over bore. All the other cylinders could have been ball honed to clean them up. One fffffinnnnng cylinder will add cost and time by just a little bit. Hopefully we can finish by the end of September and I can get out for Super Chevy and Street Car Takeover. Tops of the piston, cylinder heads all looked good. Looked totally different from the bore scope pictures. Oh well that's drag racing.

Sounds good, hope to get the motor out this weekend. Basically its just the short block setting on the mounts. Probably going to do some long tubes also. Don't know what brand yet, we shall see. Just hoping to make a tad under 800 rwhp when done, my last dyno was 713, so DOD delete Cam, Lingenfelter heads, long tube headers and I think that's achievable. Not sure how long the rest of the drive train will hold up. Could be an expensive winter if anything else breaks.

I am glad to see these stock bottom engines live so long!!!! RHS has an awesome block but boy are they proud of it. Lingenfelter has a great products, take a look at the ALL_PRO heads and the frankstein ones. They both flow great. Just curious Greg have you thought of doing the 15" rear conversion kit? I can't remember we talked about it before but my memory is terrible.

I have looked at the conversion but my 17" package has worked very well and my best 60ft is a 1.46 and consistently around 1.49 so don't think the 15" conversion would help that much. I did talk to Mark Carlyle at the Camaro fest about using his rear suspension stuff at some point.

Gotcha Greg, I don't know if you know someone at the wheel company that will have the right numbers to order, and the Hoosier slicks any certain numbers I need to reference? I am itching so bad to get the darn thing to hook off the line...

Are you talking about a setup like mine? I bought all my stuff from Summit. I did have machining done on my rear wheels because mines lowered I wanted to make sure they tucked under the fenders.

Greg, This may be a long shot, but do you know if there would be any problems putting a 315/35/17 Hoosier on 17x10.5 RaceStar 92s with a 7" BS? I am not lowered, and while I do not think it would be a problem with fender clearance, not sure about rubbing in the wheel well.
Thanks, Doug

I think they will but can't promise you they will. Don't think they would if you were lowered.

I thought they had a set of wheels now that had your same setup so we wouldn’t need to have any machine work done? Did I misremember that?

I think they do, but he's looking at the 10.5x17 and mine are 9.5x17. I found a machine shop in Grainvalley Mo that a buddy of mine has used. Mainly does race engines. Still gotta pull the short block out. Matt just has to bring back his motor plate to lift it out

Thanks, its not lowered. These are 26" tires, and am also considering going 275/40 which are also 26", but would provide a little more sidewall, although less tread width. Unfortunately being an M6 car, cannot find a bias ply 26" tire.
