IAT sensor location?
Anyone know where the IAT sensor is on the 2.0? I'm getting my wiring finished today for my nitrous and I am running an alternate signal to the IAT to put the car out of the normal operating range.
Then my tuner can set up another timing table at the fake iat temps for nitrous instead of having to switch tunes constantly.

There is one integrated with the MAF right after the air cleaner lid. There is another on the upper charge pipe just below the throttle body on the back side. And a third integrated with something? , don't recall. Manifold pressure sensor maybe??

I don't think there is a third one? Only the two you mentioned.

I am logging a third iat. The numbers fall right inline with the other two, except usually 30-50' hotter, making me think its probably engine mounted with another sensor. IDK?

If I remember right, IAT3 is a mathematical guesstimate of the air temp entering the cylinder before combustion based on IAT1, IAT2, and the pressure sensors. But maybe im totally wrong.

The sensor below my nitrous nozzle on the charge pipe came up as a boost sensor when I searched the part number. But I thought it looked like an iat. Would yall happen to know the normal voltage of the sensor? I want it to read about 250-260 degrees when I flip the arming switch.

The temp on that sensor is read by the ECM in an OHM's resistance valve. the higher the ohms the lower the temp is, the lower the ohms the higher the temp is...
there are 3 different sensors listed, one made by delco, two made by hitachi. The tables jump from 248F to 284F. 248f Delco sesnsor ohms reading would be 103 min / 116 max 284f Delco Sensor ohms reading would be 67 min / 73 max 248f Hitachi sensor #1 = 99/129 284f Hitachi sensor #1 = 62/83 Hitachi sensor #2 would be the same in that range as number 1 So you just need to find the right resistor to wire inline so when you flip the switch, it reads ohms in that area to tell the ecm the air is hot. 5v input I would imagine. I'd have to look at wiring diagrams. |

No, your probably right. I don't know why I had it in my head it was monitored after the turbo, but before the intercooler. Probably made my own assumption based on numbers, lol. I do that sometimes.
