1LE SS Differences that aren't listed.

So we all know the typical GM 1LE SS list. Items in BOLD are differences not listed.

  • Brembo® front and rear performance brakes
  • Satin Black hood wrap
  • 20" Satin Graphite forged-aluminum wheels with summer-only tires
  • Sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel
  • RECARO® performance front bucket seats
  • Performance exhaust
  • Performance-tuned suspension
  • Goodyear® Eagle® F1 SuperCar G:2 285/30R20 front and 305/30R20 rear, summer-only tires
  • Sueded microfiber-wrapped shift knob
  • Magnetic Ride Control™
  • Tire inflator kit
  • TR6060-MM6 Transmission
  • 5,200 RPM Target no lift shift versus 6,400
  • ZL1 low side fuel pump
  • Shift lights on the Heads Up Display
  • GM Short throw shifter
  • Electronic rear differential
  • 1LE specific Front Lip/Rear spoiler

What else makes a 1LE different that isn't listed?

Do 2SS camaro's not have shift lights on thier HUD? TR6060 is the same trans as the other SS Camaro 6 speeds.

I've heard and read the opposite? 2016-18 Camaro SS has the TR6060-M10 and the 1LE has the TR6060-MM6.

No they do not. Only the SS 1LE, ZL1 and ZL1 1LE have it.

What's the deal with the no lift shift? Does anyone use it at the "recommended" 5200rpm? I've done it a few times right around the 6200-6400 range and it seemed to work flawlessly. Is there a noticeable difference shifting that much sooner?

You're shifting in the right area. The feature on the SS 1LE is enabled at engine speeds ABOVE 5000 RPM (so it's enabled when you're doing it at 6200-6400rpm) and the TARGET engine speed after you put your foot on the clutch is 5000rpm. That's to ensure a smoother transition into the next gear, but still keep the throttle blade open during the shift giving full power sooner. That doesn't mean that you need to start the shift at 5000rpm. Does that make sense?

Where's evidence that the transmission is different between the SS and SS 1LE (I don't think it is)? Same question about the fuel pump. Do you have a link to this info?

The whole PTM set of modes, or is that included under the eLSD heading?

and do the 1LE get the same launch control?

I saw somewhere line lock mentioned, I think that's BS. May have been Motor Trend or Road and Track.

Customizable launch control and line lock are only on the ZL1 17-18.

This. First I've heard that. The 5th Gen TR6060 is different between SS and SS 1LE, not the 6th Gen...

That all makes sense....kind of lol. I guess I'm confused as to why the ideal shift rpm is listed at 5k on the 1LE and 6400 on the standard SS. I have been no lift shifting above 6k since I got my car and everything seems fine, should I be shifting earlier/will it make me faster? I also could've sworn the shift light is programmed for 6400 too but I guess I could be wrong since I'm usually watching the lights and not RPMs

The "Target RPM" is the RPM in which the NLS is tuned to as a starting point RPM when you re-engage the clutch.

The "Enable RPM" is the RPM in which NLS is simply enabled. If you disengage the clutch before that point, NLS will not work.

The 1LE points are for smoother transitions between gears on a road course and more consistent acceleration. The SS points are for all-out in providing the quickest acceleration for 0-60MPH, 1/4-mile times, etc (I put down a 3.8-second 0-60 time utilizing NLS in my 2016 1SS M6 with the only thing outside of factory being OEM sized Continental ECS tires with street/highway air pressure).
