Those who purchased dark GM Tails
I just purchased these new, and the finish doesnt look as good as I was expecting (a lot of scratches and marring.) I was told this condition is normal due to the way they are shipped from GM. Those who have purchased these, did yours look this way when you got them?

Mine were clean, smooth and without scratches. They were wrapped in a plastic bag then tightly packed in molded foam and boxed.

no that is not normal. they should be scratch free. GM packages them well. send those back

Yep, looks like you were shipped a returned set. Mine wasn't absolulely perfect, the driver side light had a select few tiny marks, but nowhere near this. The last pic is especially revealing.
(That said, if you're feeling adventurous as I sometimes do, go on a little DIY polishing trip and enjoy the fruits of some meticulous labor. These scuff marks should buff out with ease if you have the proper tools and polish. Several great experts in the cosmetic maintenance/detailing section here.)

I'll be the 8th man in.
Those are not new lights. Mine were in perfect clear glossy condition as any new product should be. Maybe....maybe there might be a couple small rub Mark's on an odd corner if the box was roughly handled. Those looked liked they have been washed.

mine came in a two boxes each had some sort of black styrofoam like substance that was molded to the shape. The people you bought them from are lying.
