Whipple supplies tune and rough idle?
I recently installed the Whipple supercharger on my 2016 camaro a8 with the Whipple supplied tune and am seeing some issues with idle and deceleration. The idle sits at about 750 and the car seems to be choking and the same with deceleration when the rpms drop below 1000. I actually had the car die while slowing down for a light at around 50km/h. It popped and threw the stabilitrak off so I coasted to a parking lot and started it back up and everything seemed fine. Anyone else have these issues or have ideas of exactly what’s wrong? Thanks in advance.

Can you see what the requested torque at idle is? I don't know if HP Tuners will show that, but that's the indicator we used to diagnose a bad MAF on my car with the GM team at nationals last year. Their computers show it, but we don't have access to that in the civilian world.
My thought is maybe the tune doesn't request a higher torque level at idle than stock, so the extra drag from the supercharger is slowing the motor down. |

Thank you for the response. I have an appointment Tuesday with a local shop and I’ll bring that up.

The MAP pigtail allows it to be plugged in correctly or upside down. If it is upside down you would see this on the data log the MAP reading would be stuck and not moving. You might check that.

Thanks I’ll have to check that, as I’m sure you know, when I plugged it in I was going by feel not being able to see the connector as it is tucked behind the supercharger.

Not the MAP plug behind the super charger, the one where the factory MAP plugs into the Whipple pigtail. Easy to get to, take 30 seconds to check.

So I checked the connection and it’s plugged in correctly. Did a quick drive down the street and back and logged the drive with hptuners. It was showing the map stuck at 255 kpa and not moving like you said but plug is in correct way. Could the plug be bad?

Check the IAT line and each pins on the MAP plug from Whipple. The pigtail plug from Whipple sucks. Many cars had the same problems.
