I have started asking friends and family what they think of the new 2019 Camaro SS front end. I don't give them my opinion, because I wanted an unbiased opinion. I just show them a couple pictures of the 2019 blue SS. The results are funny!

Person 1: 60 year old male friend who owned a Firebird Trans Am at one time, and is a car enthusiast.

"That's ugly!"

"Doesn't someone have to approve this?"

Person 2: 36 year old female friend, and not a car enthusiast.

"It looks like something is missing or fell off."

"Too much black plastic."

"Don't they survey people first?"

Dad-55- big car guy, had a first gen for a longgg time. Likes my 17 ss.

I showed my wife, and wish you could have seen her face. She made the expression like she had just stepped in dog crap. Said it looked terrible.

One of my good friends texted me immediately after the release and said it looked horrific, and that someone needs to lose their job over this.

I showed it to my assistant at work (late 40's female) and she made a wincing face and I think threw up in her mouth some.

I've personally not spoken with anyone that has liked it.

Girl Friend - 42 - When she caught me looking at the pics said "Don't even think about it, that thing is hideous".

Car Buddy, old timer - 74 - Owns a 69 Camaro. "WTF did they do run it into a wall and say, yeah that's good enough..."

Buddy with 2015 ZO6 - 45 - "If they ever do that Sh!t to the Vette I'm buying a Viper.

Buddy, 48 - Normal guy, likes cars but not crazy obsessed like some of us. Wants a Camaro convertible. "Well I guess I better go find me an 18 before everyone buy them up before that POS hits the streets".

Nephew - 10 - "Looks like a blue transformer. I don't like it". I asked if he liked the last bumble bee. His answer was "No. Too silly looking, like a cartoon".


So this was an assortment of 10 to 74 Male and Female. Not a single positive comment. Who exactly is their target ?

Just for a different point of view.

My first impression....do NOT like it....can't believe they made the front black and moved the bowtie off the grill !



After about a day of looking at tons of pictures and seeing it in different colors I love the Satin Steel Metallic with the black front end.....Some colors are going to look better than others with the black.

First looks and impressions are not always the lasting ones......

My point of view. Saw the car initially and it was horrible. Saw the Satin Steel and thought the same thing. Keep going back and looking at it and its not getting better......

My wife initially thought it was a Charger. Then we agreed the fiat looks better. The 6th gen had the meanest front end around when it debuted. They completely ruined its classy looks with that gaping maw and center bowtie. The rear bumper does look decent but that is all. If i was shopping for a new car in this segment id be test driving Mustangs.

Haven't talked to a single person who likes the new bumper or tails. You should've seen my phone blowing up the day it released......especially from my mustang buddies. I've been letting them have it over the 18 mustang refresh....which I might add is 100x better than the 19 camaro IMO.

I think it looks like a blend of the 6th and 5th Generation....the grill sizes are much more in line with the 5th and the new taillights are somewhat like the 10-13's.


Since I bought a '12 and a '15 I like the 5th Generation a lot....been on the fence about the 6th (somethings I like......some I don't).

Those photoshopped intro images are not accurate representations.

Better time for the survey is seeing car IRL, or actually seeing more "real" photos.

It's a black bumper - paint it if you desire.
