catted or no cats
Those of you with modded ZL1's and higher horsepower, did you go with high flow cats or no cats and why? The reason I ask is I have both recommendations and I am looking for advice or clarity from others. I am at 706 RWHP. Thanks!

If you're going to go high flow, use Kooks Green Cats or GESI ones. They're mighty expensive though. I highly recommend just going catless. I mean what is there to gain by going high flows? They don't quiet the car down much if any. They don't stop much to any more smell. But they add the possibility of melting and ruining your exhaust system and again if you don't catch it, the heat from a plugged pipe and the back pressure could be catastrophic for several parts of your car.

I went with Kooks green cats, but I’ve a bit less power than you. I did it to help with the smell and calm the rasp primarily.

Your nose might say yes if you're running 93 octane Power numbers and wallet say no. Who do you listen to? |

At the power level your going though I would probably ditch the cats especially if you don't need them to pass emissions |

17 ZL1 what a car....
|
I am more worried about the smell of no cats... My old car if left it in the garage more than 15 seconds the wife would BITCH about how the house smelled like Gas. So I think I am going to look at the Kooks Green. I also was told that if I go with some E85 that it cleans up the gas smell quite a bit. I already have the E85 Sensor just need to have the car tuned for it. Also, Anyone know what makes the Kooks Green so much better than the other cats?
