You should go drive 6 gen ,either a 1Le or SS with mag . I wouldn't let any past issues stand in your way of getting a camaro , its very solid . As far as the refresh goes i feel half the people will like and the other half won't . I liked the styling that carried over from the 5th gen and how they expanded from there . Its nice to see its evolving away from the retro look, but i think most people don't feel the same way as i do . Back in 1981 if someone would have told me in 30 years the camaro will resemble a 1969 camaro and built on a cadillac platform i would have told them they are nuts.

I did get $2000 in "conquest cash." The Camaro needs more cross-over buyers, not just from Mustangs (which is rare) but from truck and luxury buyers. The ZL1 cost as much as a BMW M3, but destroys it performance wise. No one gives two $hits about another BMW in my parking garage at work. Everyone is talking about my ZL1.
This isn't a problem that this forum can solve, but for GM to figure out. I think they also need to go "sexist" and push the "you can tell your wife it is 4 passenger (wink-wink)." Quote:

Stopped by my Chevy dealer this afternoon. They have eight Camaros on the lot. five were SS and three were ZL1. Not a single v6 or turbo 4. That means anyone interested in a Camaro right now is looking at an MSRP between $40 and $70 grand. If this is representative of other dealers, it could explain why January sales were so off.
Vette wise, my dealer had seven of them. Four were grand sports and three were Stingrays. No ZO6.

Matson Shipping is on the next pier over from where I work, and they do most of the heavy lifting for domestic car shipping to Hawaii. I saw at least a dozen 6th gens amongst the other GM vehicles heading to Hawaii in the storage lot the other day. And it took a year or so, but I see A LOT of 6th Gens on the freeways here in SoCal compared to last year. I think the car was slow to catch on, but it's catching on. |

Funny you say this, my wife told she was okay with me getting whatever as long as the kids can fit. They can.

I've had 3 kids in the car. A 5 year old and 7 year old in boosters in the back plus a 10 year old in the front. Just a warning that a 7 year old in a booster is almost touching the headliner with her head.

Seeing how overall auto sales are down and Ford is down over 6% I don't see where people are buying luxury items such as Camaro. Camaro is a luxury item.

This is for sure part of the issue
Same thing here, lousy selection, expecially of SS models in any descent color. If you want White Silver or Black you can choose from a few total, none for under 38,000 in SS form. Really lousy selection.
Has to hurt sales. Quote:

I have said many times on this board that I love my car and with enough money I would keep both.
I just don’t understand why it’s more prestigious to buy a Mustang than a Camaro. I find this to be laughable. I never said it was more prestigious to buy a Camaro than a Mustang. I love cars. I love my GT but I see it’s flaws. It will be the same with the ZL1. |
