I was at the car wash today and a S197 GT was there. He was NA obviously. So I'm in my ZL1. And when he goes to leave he starts revving his engine and tries to take off with some authority, lol!! It looked like Playskool My First Mustang or some silly kid-ish shit. I didn't even pay him any attention. That thing is a toy to me, lol!!

"Forced Induction Definition: Forced induction is the forced compression of air into an engines cylinders by means of a supercharger or turbocharger." With nitrous the engine is still breathing naturally...vacuum. It is still pulling the air in. There is nothing pushing (or forcing) the air in. Think of it like a human. We breathe thru negative pressure. Now take a Human and put him on a ventilator and the breathing changes from negative to positive. Well the Human is like the engine and the vent is forced induction...quite literally. Nitrous would be like a rescue inhaler. You activate it and you get a spurt of medication but you still have to breathe it in thru negative pressure. Just like an engine has to breathe in the nitrous. Breathing in a rescue inhaler would allow for more air to enter the lungs. But it is not positive pressure ventilation. Just like an engine sucking in nitrous will allow more air in, but it is not forced in. It is pulled in. Nitrous is a power adder. But it is not forced induction by any means. The engine is still naturally aspirating (meaning: to draw by sucking) the air and the nitrous. Someone's got a bee in their bonnet. Lighten up skippy. |

Well, if we're holding to dictionary definitions of "forced" in forced induction, then the fact that torque converters bolt to the flywheel...they are indeed "bolt-on".
