VHT NightShade paint does not last. I know from experience and used it ranging from 2006-2009. The paint will fade in no time. It always loos good when first sprayed, and deteriorates to looking pretty faded before the year mark in any decent sun exposure.
My tails have been professionally painted (with reverses left clear) by a body shop since I stopped VHT. 50/50 mix of clear and black paint, followed by straight clear.
Looks perfect and lasts.
I will be getting the dark GM tail lamps though.

Yea on line is a scam most of the time I have found out. They add the discount to freight !!!!!!!!!

That is something you would want to check on. In Kansas blacked out headlights are illegal. I still see them around all the time but I prefer to keep excuses to pull me over at a minimum. However blacked out tail lights are legal here. Blacked out headlights are written into our window tinting laws. So that might be a place to start when checking on the legality of these in your state.

Thanks movie guy, I had asked the police before and they said the tail lights has to be visible from 1,000 feet. Seems kind of subjective, so I never bothered, I too am not looking for any excuse to be pulled over. I just thought maybe Chevy got the DOT certified. Looks like I will be staying with red. I have noticed at some places that do state inspections there are signs that say any tinted tail lights will not pass.

I bought from them in the past (GM Splitter) and the shipping is free. Other sites might be scammers but not these guys.

They are perfectly legal in all states. They are not tinted/smoked. they are very similar to the corvettes zo6 tail lights. There clear, not smoked.

Point taken BreedsAS but paint technology has changed since 2009. Look at plastic dip now.

Factory paints fades too, also depends if you store your vehicle in or outside. Plus where you live. I am very happy in my out come of the rear and side makers. If ever does fade to the point of OMG, I will pony up for replacements.

The fun is in modding your own car the way you want. My first car in 1977 was a 70.5 RS and I did a of things to that car and loved it. Cost back then Used $1800. A price tag of plus 50k fully loaded will not stop me from doing things myself. Factory, aftermarket, DIY. All good.

Go Camaro Mods.
