Might seem silly, but if MSD leaves you high and dry, you could clamp it straight and put it in the oven at a low temp to re-form it. Not even sure how hot you would need to get it though.

The two main types of plastics are called thermosetting plastics and thermoplastics. Thermosetting plastics, once heated and cooled, cannot be reheated and remolded. Thermoplastics can be reheated and reshaped. I'm sure that the MSD is a thermosetting plastic due to the fact it sits on top of a hot engine.

UPDATE: I was finally contacted by MSD via email offering to send me a perimeter seal gasket free of charge. I have since written them back (last Monday) and am still waiting for response. Over all car has been waiting two and a half weeks now for MSD to resolve the situation. It's to the point I would be willing to purchase a new shell lid just to move on with my life from this frustration.
Also no amount of rvt stopped the leak. Slowed is down but its still leaking. sigh :( I have also tested my in-lb torque wrench against a local shops and they both click identically on 75 in-lb. If only it where that simple. |

Yep as I said sometimes reverting back to stock fixes the issue... now get them to send you a new intake or piece that's leaking and then you should be good.

Was contacted again by MSD today. They are sending me a new perimeter seal. They talked with R&D and said that a "full seal is not reached until the intake to head bolts are fully torqued." I am skeptical of this obviously I used a in-lb torque wrench to install but Ill update you guys again when I get the new seal and try to install again.

UPDATE: Hey guys last update for this one. MSD sent me the seal for the LS intake not the LT1. I contacted them and they next day shipped me the LT1 seal. I put in the new seal and torqued the bolts to 75 in pounds and voila no more leak! Glad this is finally over and I can now wait for the EFI plate and put it on the car. After dealing with MSD I can say just be patient and they will work with you.
