Hood Vent cap insert idea
Hey was wondering if anyone with a 3D printer has ever thought of making a mold of our 2019+ camaros hood vent an making a insert overlay with a solid bottom to put on for rainy an windy days to keep water an debris out for people without a garage. It would obviously be only for when parked an removed before driving. Just an idea I thought I would share. Pic for example.

Nah. Not at all necessary. Sometimes just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Do you mean to protect the engine bay or the vent itself? If the former, there's already a rain guard there (see this thread). If the latter... then PPF?

Honestly, I think this would be a good idea for when washing the car.

It's okay for water to get in there. More dirt is coming up from under the car as you drive than will come through that hole. It's even okay to spray the hose under the hood to wash things off.

I keep up with my engine bay really well and so after washing the car, any water that gets in is kind of annoying. I don't like the idea of introducing water to the engine bay, unless it was really filthy.

I daily drive my 2023 SS, it's in a garage at night but on the road or in parking lots every day. Totally fine to let rain in, obviously. If you're parking under a tree and getting spring tree debris all over your car, you have other worries than the vent.
