1LE Track alignment goes out after first few laps
I recently did 3 days at Watkins Glen and had the alignment set up very precisely. After only a few hot laps the alignment was gone and car pulled to the right with the steering wheel cocked to the left. I am trying to figure out why it loses alignment so quickly, as well as how I can get more then 2 degrees of camber which seems to be max for factory suspension. I've heard that the rear toe goes out almost immediately but feel there is more too it and may be front end related
Anyone know what I can do/what I can replace to improve the alignment holding longer, and increase camber? and before someone says it yes I know the alignment will go out no matter what on track, just trying to avoid it going out the second I get on track lol |

I believe SPL Tow Links with eccentric lockouts are what you’re looking for

Lots to cover here....
Did you replace the rear toe and camber eccentric torque to yield (TTY) bolts with brand new ones? They are one time use per GM. And they have a specific tightening procedure. It is easy to yield (permenantly stretch) those bolts, resulting in less clamp load. The SPL toe rods + lockout is a great choice to help alignment durability, but the lower control arm (camber) eccentric is still in play. You can then do the SPL upper control arm plus lockout. And they both make adjustments alot easier. While the alignment durability is not a strong point of the Alpha chassis, not everyone who tracks has this problem. Are you using the exit curbing hard? I found that hard use of exit curbing will greatly stress the alignment, moreso than apex curbing. The exit curbing I've experienced is a high frequency that might just shake the hell out of stuff. I'm heading to Watkins Glen in July and have been watching lots of videos. The Glen looks to have that rough exit curbing. What tires are you using? Anything 3R or greater grip will stress the alignment more. Since the search function here blows, just go search on google for "front strut camber mod camaro6.com" This mod will get you up to -3* front camber if done properly. I can get -3* on my SS 1LE. Note that while the front strut bolts are torque plus angle like a TTY bolt is, they are not TTY bolts and GM does say they are reusable. Follow their tightening procedure. Otherwise you might not get them tight enough. Or if you use a monster torque wrench or cheater, you can overtighten/yield them. Lots of info here on the forums concerning alignments including fastener tightening procedures. Use google like I mentioned along with "camaro6.com" and you'll find countless threads on this.
