Tx2k
Anyone in town for the TX2K event?
I work just off I35 coming out of Dallas and i got to see quite a few cars on their way there today. I figured is one of those "if you don't have 2000hp then don't show up" kinda thing. |

It used to be in Houston. It was primarily supras beating everything that showed up. Then vipers and nissan GTRs came in. Followed by Lambos. It was drag racing during the day and highway roll racing at night. GTRs held the crown for a long time. I quit keeping up with it a while back. I think it was 2 or 3 years ago they moved it to Ennis which is south of Dallas. They were street driven cars that raced. Like show up to McDonald's drive thru with a parachute on the back kind of cars. They do drag racing and roll racing on the track now.
Probably why i lost interest. Its my opinion but i think roll racing should be left on the streets. And people that build roll race cars for a dragstrip just can't seem to figure out how to actually build a car that launches. |

Oh trust me... there is nothing short of the real roll racing happening on the streets in Texas right now. I remember the first Supra Nationals Peter held and was a huge part of it until about 6-7 years ago. Being from Houston, it has always been the "Superbowl of Street Racing" and now yes, it definitely is, TX2k(horsepower) or stay home! Yesterday the top 20 qualifiers in the roll race all hit greater than 200mph!! My Procharged C5 Z06 could hold its own and was a great money maker a decade ago capable of 85-195 pulls all night long... but today, its just insance the cost of the participation trophy!
