Tweaking a LT4?

I watched one of those car restoration shows the other day and they were putting a LT4 crate motor in an old muscle car. They didn’t get the hp they thought they should have and the owner was complaining they were “locked out” of the map basically. They found out they had put too small an intake plenum on it. Anyway, back to the “locked out”. Has this been your experience?

Everyone is locked out of the VVE and Virtual Torque maps. HPTuners now requires that you take some bullshit mandated EPA courses in order to gain access to them.

Sucks, but that speaks to the current state of affairs that the car industry is in. Paywall this, lock out that, but fortunately, there are still workarounds for things.

I thought I was able to get around that watching Goat Rope Garage and I was able to access parameters that were "locked out" I had to follow their free online classes and take a few quizzes ? I'm sure I'm remember all of that wrong ! One was the CCM and a lot of extra exhaust parameters? I didn't take time to rewatch this to make sure it's the correct video I saved, but give it a look. Again I could be totally wrong!

Goat Rope garage won't get around it for you. You still need to take the courses and quiz and watching is stuff won't do that for you brotha. Lol.
