OBD2 port plastic tab broken

as showing in the picture.. the plastic tab holding the OBD2 port that broke off, so the plug is kinda just dangling there. when I look up the part number..it shows me a Kia part lol... is this the OEM OBD2 part or the tuning shop installed this...

Not factory. Its an obd2 extension. Usually gives you the ability to tap into the port without blocking it. Tote the note car lots use them for gps trackers, some aftermarket gauges use them too

Yeah, not factory, if bought new, the dealer added something, usually a tracker of some sort.

From my Google search.

The Spireon 7-0055 is a specific model number for the Spireon Goldstar Edge GPS Tracker, a small, self-installable device used primarily by Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) auto dealers and lenders for vehicle tracking, risk management, and recovery. It's known for its simple, wireless design, long battery life (around 3 years), and ability to provide location data, trip history, and geofencing for vehicles, helping businesses secure loans and find assets.

Appreciate everyone’s input. I pulled the cable a bit harder this time and did find a f****** GPS tracker. I was wondering why my damn OBD cable is so long. I think it’s either the Chevy dealer installed it or the damn tuning shop did. Whatever. It’s in the dumpster now

You're going to get a call from the dealer in a month or two. They are going to ask you to come in for a recall or some special promotion that you get a free oil change. What they really want to do is check the status of the tracker. Primary "why did it stop tracking".

I say ****em, if they are going to half ass install there then they deserve to have the customer toss it. When i put them in you never know they are there. Piggyback into the cluster, under the carpet hardwired to the passenger presence system, in the wiring under the fusebox.
