Oil Filter

What oil filter does everyone use? First change I used TG 10575 this time I had XG 12060.

If I am not mistaken that is the same as 12060.

I only use the OEM, which is the PF64. Genuine quality with tested and safe bypass pressures.

Same. I've read a lot of concerns about other brand filters and bypass pressure. I figured it was best to stick with Delco.

Interestingly, I started down this road because I bought the PF64 Gold and then read that it didn't have the same pressure as the standard filter, so even within the AC Delco world there is consternation. So I went with the exact same model filter that came off from the factory, and that's what I've done for each change.

PF64 or WIX LD-WL10290XP, I just put on the WIX yesterday.

Watched a youtube video that went through the alternate filters and the WIX was a close enough bypass pressure to be considered the same.

Many of the others are either significantly higher or lower.

If you are under Powertrain Warranty, ACDelco PF64.... I've been using them exclusively since day 1...

The PF64 is the ONLY filter for the LT1 or LT4 wetsump engines. Anything else you want to use, even the WIX or Amsoil filters have to be carefully selected due to the bypass in the filter AND there is another bypass in the block that will close off flow to the oil cooler circuit as well.

Here is the link to the different filter and their ratings. LMK if you have any questions.

Only ever used ACDelco PF64, and have no reason to change.

David, you yourself allow for a Wix and an Amsoil filter at this link and note their superior filtering capabilities, so this post looks a bit overly cautious---of course non-OEM filters always have to be "carefully selected", but nobody who cares enough to go beyond the ever varying PF64 would just slap in a random oil filter, right?

Thanks to all for the replies. arpad, yes I try to choose carefully about all my vehicles. The Pete's engine is $65,000. Fleet Guard for her. I actually had an AC filter fail on me years ago. Not on a Camaro. Nor an LT engine. I just put 6000 miles on the last filter, Fram 10575. Had no problems. I am now just over 10,000 miles with hopefully many more to come. Dave.
