LT1 to LT4 Fuel Injector Upgrade

Hi, I have a '22 SS 1E with a 6 speed. I am building a parts list of things I want to upgrade on it. I am trying to research everything I need to upgrade the stock LT1 injectors to the LT4 injectors. From what I've gathered is the SS 1LE comes with the LPFP from the ZL1 but not the HPFP from it. Would I need to upgrade that too? What is everything I need to do the upgrade? Thanks!

Why are you upgrading injectors? What mods do you have? What goals of power are you trying to get to? Are your stock components not keeping up with what you have?

Yes, you would want to buy the LT4 HPFP to go with the LT4 injectors. Don’t forget to replace the hard fuel pipes that feed the injectors too.

Good questions! If Tbronk wants big power on ethanol on a boosted engine he should skip right over the LT4 stuff for something bigger (Katech, LPE, THPSI port injection, etc).

Sorry to derail from OP, for e85 on a boosted engine would the LT4 LPFP be fine or still something bigger there too?

I think the injector hole in the heads on a 22 are bigger and take a bigger diameter injector on the 22 than the earlier years. If I'm not mistaken they changed sometime on the later ones.

Depends on your power level. LT4 in tank can carry you for a while, especially with a JMS voltage booster. But full E will probably run the in tank pump down at much over 700-730 WHP I’d guess. King has done quite a few posts on this topic over the years, I’d do a search for that.

There's an upgrade kit available with the pump, injectors and hard lines.
