Downside of catless?
So Ghost is in the shop getting a new starter and brakes. I need to add an extra ground wire to my engine bay asap and trust it’s at the top of the list but while it’s in the shop I started thinking maybe it’s time to go catless not sure if I’m keeping the NPP I like having the option to quiet the exhaust although I rarely use it and keep it set to track 9.8 times out of 10 lol but when I was doing my research on the sound difference between catless with muffler and without muffler I came across some saying their remote start stopped working due to the CEL that comes on but others say they didn’t have that problem. Just trying to see if this is common. While not a deal breaker I do love my remote especially for these Texas summer days coming I’d love to cool the car down before getting in it. Before tuning it I want to order a e85 kit so I can get everything done at the same time. So for the catless crew did you loose remote start?

If you go catless just tune it for it and you won't have an engine light. The exhaust will become more raspy. Im on headers, catless, Xpipe to stock NPP with no valves. I like the sound. Its loud when it should be and it's quiet when I'm cruising.
If it were me for your car. I would get test pipes to replace the cat pipes, get hp tuners, change the fan strategy to better accommodate for Texas heat, and make the changes necessary for the test pipes. Just to add, my exhaust doesn't stink and I'm running on 93. |
