Front Splitter Questions

I want to replace the splitter, and I recall reading on the forum a while back that they come already painted carbon flash metallic. Is this correct?

Also, does anyone have the part number? Online GM parts web sites are terrible for finding this part.

Thanks for your help.

6th gen ZL1 OEM splitters and side skirts are mosaic black. Carbon flash is a different color and more gray. It was used on the 45th anniversary. However, since mosaic was only available I believe in 17-18, maybe they use something different now and mosaic may no longer be available.

OK. Let me clarify. I have a 2018 ZL-1 and I want a new front splitter. Does it come painted in the proper black color, and does anyone know the part number?

Thanks.

finding out may be an issue. since mosaic black was discontinued as a body color after 2018, those parts may now be painted with gloss black or something else. but yours being an 18 would definetly be mosaic black, which has the silver and gold pearl. not sure how to find out or even if a parts guy could tell you. good luck

Can’t help with knowing if it comes painted or not. But I can tell you the regular ZL1’s came with a gloss, metallic black splitter. It’s called mosaic black or black meet kettle metallic. Paint code WA394A. I replaced my stock splitter on my 2022 ZL1 with a 1LE splitter (which comes satin black) and used that paint code to respray, and it matched the side skirts perfectly.

As Buffcoat says, it comes pre-painted in the correct color. The actual color is called Black Meet Kettle Metallic, and the part number is 84176917.

Just be aware that while the cost of the part isn’t too bad, the shipping from online parts dealers can be ridiculous. For example, the cost from gmpartsdirect.com is $173.66, but shipping to Columbus, Ohio is $261.00.

You might want to check with a Chevy dealer about ordering it. It may end up being cheaper when you combine the cost of the part and shipping.

ZL1 coupe and convertible (NON-1LE) splitters are Mosaic Black Metallic (WA834A), which contains a gold fleck.

Carbon Flash Metallic (WA501Q) is a Corvette color and contains a silver fleck.

The buy-from-dealer option is the way to go here IMO.

Thanks guys. Yes, it's cheaper from the dealer because of the shipping.
