Recommended Auto Transport Company

What are some car transport companies you guys can recommend or not recommend in this current logistical/economic climate?

I am shipping from Detroit to South Florida, Enclosed trailer.

Here are some quotes I have gotten so far...

Plycon - $2560
Sherpa - $2025
AmeriFreight - $1957
Montway - $1700

Montway seems to be #1 on a lot of top-10 review lists, as well as the most affordable, but are they a you pay for what you get case?

Has anyone had experience with any of these companies?

Finally, I am on the fence on open or enclosed. I am willing to go enclosed if I can keep it just under $2k. Since its a fairly long distance, I am afraid of it being exposed to roads for so long. What do you all think?

Thank you in advance...

I just shipped a car from the Denver area to the Tucson area (around 950 miles) using Webster Hauling. The cost was $1500 for an enclosed trailer, which I highly recommend. I was very satisfied with the experience overall.

I had my car shipped by PLYCAR, I was between them and Reliable. When I called Reliable, they told me it would be 3-8 weeks for the pickup of a car when they had a truck going "my way". So I called PLYCAR, and it was picked up in less than a week. I got my car the next day after it was picked up, in perfect condition. Mine was only about 450 miles distance though.

I used Plycar to have my car shipped from a dealer in Michigan to Long Island NY. They picked up the car on a Friday (I was the last pickup) and they dropped it off on Sunday. Perfect condition. Not a scratch on it.

I used Montway twice last year, and they were completely professional both times, the drivers careful and attentive. Happy to recommend them.

I used Crystal Car Shipping 11 months ago, to ship (closed container) from CA to MA. Very good price, and shipping was smooth and problem free.

If you have an extra couple of days, fly up and drive home. I did this working with Joe P. Flew into Detroit at 2pm, slept in Kentucky around 10, car in garage in Atlanta after lunch time the next day. Break in was half way done, and I had a great time doing it. Get to know your new car, eat bbq, listen to music. Good fun.

Gave the car a bath and an oil change the next day, and was used to the car already when I hopped back in it.

This was my plan in the beginning. I am still open to it. But seeing how prices for delivery isn't as bad as I thought, I started to lean more towards just having it delivered. I also don't know how feel about driving 19 hours lol

Just think about how great of a 2-3 day road trip you could have in a new car with just half of that transport money. I did 5 states in two days, stayed in a nice place in Louisville, ate some great food, and spent under 700 including the flight up. About 11 hours on the road with traffic and some rough weather, but I stopped to take pictures of neat stuff, too. Not a lot of fun memories in getting your car dropped off like a pizza. That's New Balance Corvette stuff.

Plycar (Plycon) was going to be my shipper of choice if I did it after all my research. Time-and-again, they seem to follow through with excellent work according to others. I referred Armycop to them.

It does sound very fun and I still open to it. I guess it all depends on the timing for me. Whenever I find out when the car arrives at the dealer I will know whether I will fly or just set up a pickup.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I read your and Armycop's review on Plycon earlier this year which is why I looked them first. A lot of people here were happy with their service. Thanks!

Shipping a car can be a daunting task, but it can be a breeze with the right car shipping company. However, as with anything, it's essential to weigh price against quality. Just because they're affordable doesn't mean they're the best option. When I needed to move my car, I contacted Shipaa. They provided me with professional services and guaranteed that my vehicle was in safe hands during transport. You can make the right choice, and your vehicle will be delivered in perfect condition.
