Lt4 supercharger on an LT1

I recently got an LT4 supercharger off a very low mileage 2023 ZL1. I’m thinking of having a shop install it on my 2020 SS 1LE M6. I would get the ADM conversion kit, 3.0 pulley, larger heat exchanger, headers and x pipe.
Any pitfalls to look out for? I’m not looking to make crazy numbers hence the pulley size. I’m looking for 125-150 hp increase that’s reliable on 93 octane. Obviously there are no crystal balls and there is always risk while modifying cars. Hell there’s risk in stock motors coming apart. Not sure if I’m doing the high side and LT4 injectors..etc.
Looking for any advice. My shop doesn’t seem concerned but I figured I poll the fine educated folks here. I have read a few threads on the subject but they were old.
Thanks

If you're not touching fueling I wouldn't cross 550whp. Some will claim that even 700whp is fine on stock internals with adequate fueling and have tens of thousands of miles on their build, but I've seen enough "properly set up" LT1's bite the dust well below that for me to risk it. Seems to be luck of the draw with these engines after 600whp.

Since your compression is 1.5 points higher than an LT4, the more octane you can get the better. E85 is the key to great power and reasonable longevity. You’ll need at least LT4 fueling to do that. If you can’t/won’t run E85 then keep it down to 5 or 6 pounds of boost, keep the timing conservative, and hope for the best.

car made 534 wheel hp and 617 torque on 6 pounds of boost. the only issue so far is a stumble going into boost. Not sure what's going on. Car has a stumble or hesitation and isn't smooth at all going to boost. Before the boost hits the car runs and drives like stock. i did have the shop do 1 7/8 headers and non catted x pipe.

Have you had a known good tuner take a look at it? That would be my first move.

it was tuned by the well-known shop that did the work. unfortunately they are a few states away. I will likely need to bring the car back to them.

Did you change plugs? You should have installed cooler LT4 plugs and tightened up the gap a little bit. If you’re running the stock plug wires with headers (especially uncoated) that’s usually a recipe for trouble fyi… some guys luck out but most don’t.

Get connected up with KingLT1 or Megahurtz on this forum to review your tune.

I appreciate the response. I did have new plugs installed LTR7IX LTR7 plugs and MSD plug wires. the old plugs were in my old parts boxes. i may end up getting an HP tuner set up so i can data log

In my opinion, anyone who has a tuned car should have a hp tuners setup, that way they are in control of their own car, and not tied to someone not local. Opens up all kinds of options, of having darn near anyone, anywhere review or retune your car. It would be a good move. The only other problem would be most will want to see a wideband installed also, another good investment to make.

I would be careful keeping the cast internals. I had a low boost Procharger installed on my stock 2022 SS and broke rings and seals at the 5,000 mile mark

I have had a Whipple on my 2016 SS since 2019 and it's still going strong. 10-11psi running E60 fuel. It's all in the setup and tuning. Ethanol fuel is almost mandatory imo unless you are going be very conservative on the boost & tune with pump gas.

I wouldn't do it unless you get the LT4 HPFP and Injectors and run some blend of Ethanol. Otherwise the gains will be a lit lazy.

But it will work if you keep the boost around 6PSI on 93 pump gas.

Agreed. I ordered everything today. I will do some data logging for my tuner.

I have seen the light. I will be adding the LT4 high pressure pump and LT4 injectors. DSX flex fuel sensor and tune. i am going to leave the 3'' upper pulley keeping it at 6 pounds of boost. i appreciate everyone's feedback
