Parking lot respect

Didn't have time to take a picture, but this still seemed worth sharing.

Yesterday they were doing some unannounced repaving in the part of the parking lot where I normally park at work. I have a spot that is effectively "too far" for everyone else, so it keeps me out of door-ding territory.

So yesterday morning I found a less remote parking space, but still away from the crowd. So I was a little disappointed when I looked out the window at the end of the day and saw my car was now between two huge pickup trucks.

However, the negative waves vanished when I got outside and saw how the trucks were parked - both were about a tire's width into the adjacent vacant parking spaces, leaving almost half of a parking space on each side of my car.

It was nice to see some "Camaro respect" like that!

Similar story this week.

My car is not a daily and it's setup more for track and mountain rallys (paved) but due to some suspension concerns and a rebuilt/upgraded trans I'm trying to get some miles on it to deduce the problem(along with the break in 500 CITY miles for the trans) before winter hits. There is a unicorn end spot with barriers on either side at work. The kind of pristine spot folks fight over. As soon as I saw it I was like "hell yeah, that bitch is mine.!" Monday morning after my shift I noticed a gentleman hovering outside his vehicle on the other side of the aisle. I got in my car, doing my thing and he knocks on the window. I rolled the window down..

"I'm not gonna lie. I saw this car and have been waiting for the owner to come out. I wanted to hear it start. I felt your hood and since it was cool, I knew you had worked all night (he was a day shifter coming in). This is a beautiful car. Now that I know a chick drives it....wow....just wow....totally badass. He smiles, nods his head at me) You have a wonderful day."

I was all smiles. What a fantastic display of respect.

Both those stories are awesome to hear. I mean, our Camaros are beautiful cars for sure, but still it's nice to hear people just being nice to each other.

I dropped of some paperwork to our sister store down the road and the young kid that works there walked out towards my car after me(I parked kinda far away as they were closed and the gate was locked). He starts talking about how he loves my car, and that he's been scouring the ads for a Camaro of his own when he gets his drivers license. He started talking about the V6s, almost worried about it, but I told him that was awesome. It's still a great engine and he should look at those ones rather then the V8s.
I told him to definitely show me if he gets one and he started to walk home. I then realized he didn't even live in the direction I parked, guess he walked the wrong way with me just to talk about Camaros.

A few months ago I was stocking up on ammo before Kalifornia implemented it's wonderful "11% excise tax on guns and ammo", I went in intending to buy a case of ammo (1,000 rounds), they were having a sale and had a bunch in stock (they had been sketchy on stock the last couple visits), I decided to buy 3,000 rounds (3 heavy cases) fully intending to make 3 trips from the store to my car (I had the Camaro out that day)... One of the guys in the store grabs 2 cases and says "I'll help you out..." I'm thinking "aw, crap..." As we are walking out I look at him and say "You can just put it down here, I literally parked at the other end of the parking lot..." He said "No problem, I've got you..." Once we got out there and he saw what we were walking towards he looked at me and say "Oh DAMN!, NOW I totally understand, I would have done the exact same thing!" We ended up chatting at the car for about 20 minutes and I gave him the $0.50 tour, he loved the car... It's nice meeting "good people" in the world once in a while...
