Hiss when Applying Brakes

Was pulling into my garage last night when I could hear a hiss coming from the engine bay. Parked it and I would get a hiss upon brake application, then it would stop hissing. Releasing brake pedal I would get another hiss, then it would stop hissing. I don't recall hearing this before, but most of my brake applications I never can hear anything from the engine bay.

Wondering if anyone else has noticed this before I start diagnosing my brake booster and vacuum line.

It has happened on a few of the Gen V application GM's. Based on what you are talking about it wouldn't surprise me if the booster is bad, and based on the symptoms it does indeed sound like a bad booster. I would put a vacuum tester to the booster and make sure it holds pressure (or not) before fully condemning it though.

Definitely checking the hose first because I do not have a hard pedal. I also did not notice a reduction in braking force at the track.

I also believe I am running lean. My exhaust tips are basically white. But no CEL or rough idle.
