Interesting ZL1 Collector's Edition build information

So far there have been 322 CE ZL1s, of which 293 are USA and 29 are Canadian.

Only a few days left.

I think the last cars built may be only ZL1 CEs and Garage 56 cars.

Happy Holidays!

300 for the US and 50 for Canada was the plan all along.

The last LT4 engine has been built (last week) along with the last convertible chassis (this week) .

GM also says that Dec 7th is when the Camaro coupe will end while the convertible ended 22 Nov.

We all assumed that this meant that the days mentioned were the days the coupe or convertible were going to stop but it seems that it means that is the day they stop making the chassis but will continue to make the coupe or convertible until they run out of the chassis.

Which I find strange that they stopped the Camaro LT4 production before they ran out of chassis's.... but whatever.

My guess is that an LT4 engine assembly doesn’t take much room and it’s a small subset of all Camaro’s produced. It also likely allows that tooling to go away for something else, and or shifts labor. It also makes sense because the engines are delivered from Bowling Green.

I'm wondering how GM knows that they will have enough ZL1 LT4s. Unless they just decided they are going to make X amount of convertibles and coupe's even if there are 1 or 1000 unfilled allocations on the table afterwards.

I guess it gives the Camaro LT4 builders more time to focus on the Blackwing and Escalade V LT4s.
