Thinking about buying new 2024 ZL1 Camaro

Hey guys. I currently drive a 2022 Challenger Hellcat.

I used to drive a 6th Gen. Camaro.

How is the build quality on the new Camaros?

I do like the stock 717 Hellcat HP but the car is too heavy. Lol. It needs a lot of power.
And I like the 6th Gen. Camaro ride quality better.

The only downside is I’ll get screwed most likely trying to trade in the Hellcat at a dealership and I’m getting too old to sell it myself. I’ll have to check with Carmax, Carvana, etc to see what they’re offering

I’m just looking for advice.

My Hellcat is in mint condition with only 2k miles and never been to the track.

Edit: I’m also looking for a slightly used one that has low miles, garage queen too

Are you okay with paying $90k at lowest? That’s what the 24s are starting at

Build quality is very good. You won't be disappointed and the Recaro's are excellent.

Honestly, I'd look for a 2023 instead of a 2024, and you won't really regret it in terms of overall performance.

Since 2017, I've owned a 2018 ZL1, a 2020 Redeye Challenger, and now a 2023 ZL1 again....

The only complaints I have about the ZL1 is the Recaros, I am a much larger person so they just don't fit me well. Aside from that, I don't really miss much else from the Challenger. Those seats were indeed very comfy.

That said, being able to hit a corner and feeling firmly planted at speed is just a much more refreshing feeling. Plenty of lightly modded Camaros at 700hp and they outhandle/outperform regular Hellcats all day.

Yes, if that’s what the MSRP is and I get a fair price for my Hellcat

Thanks. I have plenty of time too. In no hurry. I’ll definitely look for a ‘23.

I wish Chevy made more ZL1s like Dodge makes Scat Packs and Hellcats lol

Personally, if you have a 2022 HC, trading it out for a Z is silly. Unless you do serious canyon carving and even then silly.

Keep the HC it is a fantastic vehicle.

Grey coupe collector’s edition is 95k

I don’t need the collector’s edition

I’m just currently thinking about it and since it’s November, I’ll probably wait until next spring to seriously look.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like my HC.

And I also had a Scat Pack Charger too.

Keep in mind that Camaro production ends in December, 2023, so inventory may be limited next spring.

Actually, it's not silly at all.. They are legitimately two different types of vehicles, and it's not even close. Can a Hellcat or a Redeye do similar things to a ZL1? Sure... but not in the same capacity. Just like the ZL1 is never going to be able to haul as much/have as much space inside the vehicle either...

Hellcats lack traction, even at a 305/315 tire, and a lot of it has to do with how their suspension is setup. HCs are great cars for what they do, but if you want something more, I can understand the desire to change. Used HCs are going for big money right now, so you could get out of it fairly easily.

Only thing I would recommend on the ZL1 is get yourself a good set of DD tires as the Cup3s wear quickly on daily street life...

You can get a used low miles for much cheaper all I’m saying. But you might be able to get out the door for 85 or so on a new 2023 maybe 24 non collectible if you search hard and are willing to travel or transport

I was also able to get a 5 year extended on top of my CPO so I don’t expire until 2028 for what that’s worth
