Well it was the o2 sensor...Finally a P0150
Hi All,
Passing this along.. Car ZL1 1LE, about 2-3 events per year at COTA. Some drives to work and weekend fun drives. About 10K miles. Last time at COTA car didn't seem to making full power. About 10mph slower in the back straight (142 vs 152mph). Seemed to start after filling up at the track. Times off, etc. I noticed the pumps were now using fuel with ethanol after a change in supplier. Idle seemed to be bumpy and there was a hesitation. Not sure if the fuel was a factor, or just coincidental. Thought it must be fuel as car has only 10K miles. Yes the track has long full throttle runs but this was the second year running it with zero previous problems. I don't drive it daily so took a while to go through a couple of tanks. No improvement. Symptoms: - Loss of power (but hard to notice) - Bumpy idle with a miss occasionally (also hard to notice) - Cold start seemed overly rich - Hesitation off idle - Car "louder" - Eventually P0150 code Then one day I floored it getting onto the tollway, CEL now on. P0150 code. This is a few months after being at the track. Replaced the $49 sensor and all fixed. When replacing the sensor I noticed the harness connection was right on top of the first bulge in the exhaust. Passenger side. The little white safety insert had gotten a brown toasty look to it. I rotated it up higher. Yes I could have taken it to the dealer, but I reset the code by unplugging the battery. The white tab needs to be pulled out to get the freakin' plug separated BTW. There is a little rectangular window you can use to push at the clip with a small screwdriver or pick. Oddly the engine is much "quieter" or smoother now. Didn't think it would make that much difference. Hope this helps anyone wondering with the same symptoms.
