2018 ZL1 1LE starting only with jump box
My Camaro won't start without a jump box. It'll only do 1, 2 or 3 clicks. Once I connect a jump box it starts easily. My battery is new. Anyone have common reasons? Thank you all to those who help.

New battery means nothing unfortunately. I’ve seen them sit on the shelf of an auto parts store for years. I’d start with checking that out first (get it load tested). Then check both connections to make sure they’re clean and secure.

Unfortunately a battery can test fine and still be bad. Happened to me on my 2017 SS. Same symptoms as the OP. GM won’t replace a battery that tests ok. Fortunately I have a good dealer that took care of it.

This is not necessarily your current (no pun intended) issue but while you're resolving it you may want to attend to this one as well- www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=586153
It worked well for me too, and while there are many possible choices of cable mentioned thru the post, this one looked like a cost effective one- https://www.autozone.com/batteries-s..._0_0?rrec=true Good luck! |
