Magnuson with or without fit kit?

Buddy is ordering a 2650R soon but there are a few different options, one with tune and fit kit, one without tune but with fit kit and one with the blower only.

He will be going to Vengeance and they provide their own water manifold set (not sure what is different from what Magnuson provides or doesnt provide) for $199 and a $375 install kit additional at Vengeance containing the following:

- Earl's 100126ERL Y-Block (x2)
- IR OM-10-10 Adapter (x4)
- IR OM-12-12 Adapter (x2)
- Fragola 204510-BL Hose End (x4)
- Misc Lines/Fittings for Complete Installation

My question is, with those install parts and water manifolds being added by Vengeance, should my buddy just be buying the blower only itself and not the fit kit? Seems like a lot of duplicated parts otherwise and its $500 cheaper for just the blower vs with the fit kit ($5995 vs $6495). He will be using a rotofab intake so an adapter to the oem airbox isnt needed either. He is also getting their billet valve covers to resolve the clearance issue and avoid cutting.

Also can you order the blower up front with a 103mm inlet and 95mm pulley vs paying more to add them additional to the normal 90mm inlet and 90mm pulley that ships with it since the blowers are built to order?

Not to argue semantics, but for clarification, as far as I know...

The "manifolds" come with the base blower assembly. There are hoses, hardware, and a reservoir that come with the fit kit. There might be some other fasteners and hardware, too, but that would only be for moving existing harnesses and hoses and such. I think you are on point about the 103 and probably the 95mm pulley. I think it comes stock, when you order an LT4-kit, with a 90mm. If he's got a ZL1, that's the one, probably, to start with.

There aren't clearance issues. There's just cutting the stock valve covers. The only reason this might be an issue is if he intends on going back to stock or something. The other hardware I'm wondering about is if the hardware kit comes with the coil relocation brackets. I'm thinking of a couple CSP-videos that it didn't seem like they used the fit kit (because I didn't see any Magnuson hoses or reservoir), and I didn't see the relocation brackets. That could be because, I think, at least one, if not both of the cars in the video used the Speed Engineering valve covers, which relocate the coils enough to clear this blower. But - for clarity, the relocation brackets are available for the coils, from Magnuson.

I think your buddy should call Magnuson and see what they think. If Vengeance has done enough of these kits, they should know what to get, too. I know not all shops use all these blowers out there, so that's why I put it like that. It's not a special blower or anything, so they, obviously, could easily install and set the Maggie up, but if they don't or haven't done one of these, maybe they aren't yet familiar with all the little nuances.

I recommend buying the fit kit. When I was there we had guys that tried to source parts similar to what you'd get in the kit and spent more then the kit. I used the speed engineering and they are a good price. Vengeance has their own VC which are really nice but little more expensive.

Are either of those internally baffled?

Speed engineering's covers are baffled, not the greatest but they have baffles on both covers for the pcv.

They may have added them since I owned mine but in July 2019 they weren't baffled. I'm sure Sean added them as more testing was done.

Yeah hence the “not the greatest” .

I originally had some issues when I had them with no cam and my Mighty Mouse can pulling in quite a bit of oil requiring a reducer on the vacuum.

Since cam and hose re-route been fine. I wouldn’t run them though without a catch can that’s for sure.
