Radio continuing to stay on after opening door

Maybe I'm hallucinating but i swear all power used to shut off when opening the door to get out? After turning the car off and opening the door, the radio continues to stay on until a few seconds after i shut and lock the door. Am i missing something? 2021 ZLE

Mine does it too sometimes but haven’t figured out why or why it doesn’t do it all the time and only sometimes. I hope someone on here knows because it’s irritating.

In my experience, the radio goes off if keys leave the car and door is closed. On the other hand, the radio stays on if keys stay in the car when door is closed.

A new update just rolled out.. my car alerted me of it like an hour or two ago.. may be causing the radio staying on for you as well.

Have you checked the update screen in settings on the infotainment system to see if you have updates from Chevy that need to install? My 21 3lt started that with the radio staying on. Checked updates- system showed an update needed to be downloaded and installed. Allowed the system to install the update ( took less than 15 minutes) and the radio is now back to normal- not staying on.

Update showed up on my 21 Camaro yesterday. All is good now. I would love to know what was updated out of curiosity.

My 20 had an update and then I had the radio stay on twice. I was notified, and accepted, another update days later and it hasn’t happened since.

I’m not sure the first caused it or the second fixed it. I do know the first was radio related.

FYI - I’m not new to gen6 2SS. This is my third and I’ve daily driven them since May 2016

This happened to me a little while back, after an update.

Having said that, I was sure I didn’t quite catch the power button… I thought at the time that I had only made half contact with it. I was unnerved by the car not completely shutting down and stayed to observe, then opened the door, restarted, shut down; and all worked properly. This hasn’t occurred since. I could be insane, but I swear full contact with the power button had something to do with this one off for me.

When the radio doesn't shut off when you open the Driver's door, it's the car telling you that there's a software update waiting to be installed. Go into the menus and kick it off.

Had this issue crop up on my 21 SS a few days ago. As others have said look for the update. I too thought I was doing something wrong. Was about to contact dealership and alert them to an electrical problem as my radio wouldn’t cut off after several minutes. Update seems to have eliminated the problem.

I just completed the update and the issue is gone. That's a strange way to let you know there's an update available
