Terrible gauge ranges

Is anyone else supremely annoyed with GM’s choice of scale for the voltage and temperature gauges? Voltage has 9 as low and 14 as midpoint. Which makes the intermediate marks 10.25, 11.5, and 12.75.

The temp is similar with low being 160 and mid being 210. So intermediates are 172.5, 185, and 197.5.

Not that it really matters once you figure out where the needle is supposed to be pointing, but it seems like a silly decision to make gauges that aren’t really readable.
