Convertible top goes up...wi does stay down?

So, I’ve owned other convertibles including a C7 Z06 and when you put the top up on them, the windows would also go up once the soft top has finished its little dance. Except in my 2020 Camaro. Or am I missing something?

Yes, the windows stay down when you put the top up. That’s how the 5th and 6th Gen Camaro convertibles have always worked.

You need to close the rear windows first or the front ones will not do the auto up.

Close top fully. Once you get the indication that it's closed, pull up "hard" on the two window control buttons. Press the button to change the controlled windows to the "other" ones and repeat the harder pull up.

All windows will auto-up, and it makes no difference if you start with the rear or front windows selected. The car will only put the rears up first before doing to the auto-up on the fronts. So, they'll sit for a bit in a "waiting" mode and will automatically continue going up once the rears are fully closed.

Same geniuses that made a car where you can put the top down remotely but can only raise it from inside the car

Yes, I know there is the aftermarket module, just not worth almost $300 to me to get around this annoyance

"Remotely" is a subjective term. If you mean from 5' away while you're standing right next to the car, then I agree it sort of works. Sometimes.

The fact that you have to press and continuously hold the button on the remote to get the top to open (before starting / entering the car) means that this so-called feature will never really work as anyone in the real world would want it to. The key fob needs to maintain connection to the car while this is all going on and any break in the communication causes the open procedure to get interrupted and you have to start again.

So, yeah... I agree... A bunch of geniuses that developed a perfectly useless item with the remote top open option. The Federal Government and the Darwin Awards are why we can't have a remote close option.

At least we can raise and lower the top while on the move, up to 50 KPH. A friends 370Z has to be fully stopped and its gawdawfull slow. In a sudden squall he gets wet, I don't.

Yes, finally got that figured out separately. A little odd procedure, but works nice once you get used to it. I was looking for an all with the convertible top, but no dice.
