Interior Scratch Fix?

So if anyone remembers I was the one that posted the thread titled "Need Some Advice" about purchasing a used 2018 Camaro 2SS.

So earlier today I went to go see it in person and the exterior is very good. Couldnt even fine a scratch. The rims were spot less and I thought that was amazing. I asked if anything has been replaced and the rep said no. However the interior was dirty, but most of the dirty could be washed away. I was suprised how dusty it was, clearly they didnt get the chance to clean the interior cause you could see dirt and grim on the steering wheel. Test drove it (alone which was odd cause rep said cause of Covid he couldnt be inside the car with me) and everything sounded fine. However, one thing that I noticed was this long deep scratch on back seat. (its attached)

Anyone know how much it would cost to fix that? or even if its worth fixing.

That's an odd place to have a scratch like that, like someone hauled something oversized and didn't take care to keep from damaging the car.

Upper Quarter Trim - GM (84116357) Lists for $83.00. At least I think that's the right part.
Seen between $60-$90 depending on different sites.

I just removed mine a week back for some audio speaker work and it should be straightforward. I would make the dealer do it.

I agree. I would negotiate to include the cost and installation of the replacement trim panel in the due bill.

Not sure why you're posting about this... Make the dealer own the repair as part of the terms of purchase. No?

Yeah, if you still haven't bought it yet, then like other's have mentioned. Have dealer replace it. You've done the legwork by having the GM part number for them.

I would not offer them the part number... On the off chance that it turns out to be the wrong part (or color or something), they'll put it on the buyer. The VIN will allow them to look up correct OE parts and order directly. Then, if there's an error, it's 100% on them.

I have had this out... sort of. The seatbelt is threaded through it. Last time I unscrewed a seatbelt anchor the threadlocker was so tight I thought the whole car would turn with the wrench! These can be pretty annoying.

The other thing is it is easy to miss hooking in the rear tapered portion of this trim under the package tray. I think there are 3 hooks that go into slots you can't really see. Not rocket science, but you have to pay attention.

In my experience, many dealers selling used won't agree to making a cosmetic repair as part of the contract. Instead they may knock of another $100 or tell you that's why the price is less than new.

I've never had an issue getting a dealer to make a repair like this. If you're buying a Chevy from a Chevy dealership, they get the parts at cost and their labor to do the repair makes it a no-brainer for them to make the sale.
