Air Intake Elbow - aluminum, rubber, carbon fiber

Roto Fab sound tube delete

Has any one tried to mod their GM Performance CAI with a roto fab sound delete elbow? It looks like the same size and bend, I called roto fab and they said it was only for their on roto fab CAI.

Other then just plugging up the GM Performance CAI tube does anyone have an option? I would like a clean look instead of a plug on tube of the elbow. Anyone get the carbon Fiber one from Cold Air Inductions?

I wonder if you could just buy an elbow for a 2020 LT1 for that cleaner look. According to some on the forum their 2020s didn’t have sound tubes and there was someone on the forum that made plugs for the elbows and was selling them thru eBay. Don’t know if they are still listed for sale though.

Good idea, thanks. I will check out a 2020 and compare elbows on intake.

They should be the same but the one for the 2020 won’t have a provision for the sound tube.

Check out on page 2 of this section the thread of the Hemmings review article of the 2020 SS as there is a pic of the engine bay with the intake elbow. It has a small plug from the factory. Hope this helps you.

Okay I decided to go this route. I picked an elbow off Amazon the same specs as close as I could get. 4in TB and 4in straight piece towards MAF length 7 inches. I got a 4 inch coupler for TB end and 4.25 straight Piece for MAF end.

The bend of the elbow was not the same so I had to cut and grind. I ended up putting the PCV intake hose underneath the elbow to hide the connection. Why did I do this, just didn’t like the two bugles where from the original elbow and especially when I got rid of the sound tube. This CAI was on the car from factory when I bought the car new. Would not have been my first choice. I am looking at the carbon Fiber CAI that they have. Anyone get that yet?

Can anyone chime in regarding the Carbon Elite Series by CAI? The price is pretty step and was wondering what they thought about the product?

$750 is insane for a cold air intake.
