Extreme Online Longtube Headers

Saw only one thread on these and they were added to an LT1. They were cheap enough to experiment with.

Initial Impressions: Good Quality Stainless Steel, the flange welds are very good. Heat shield included along with hardware. The header pipe mating with the flanges leaves more to be desired but at this price point I'll let it pass.

Price ? The outside passenger 2nd or ( picture 3) 3rd runner, do you think that will rust out or blow out some exhaust? Maybe weld it up a tad to insure no leak, I know gaskets will seal between the head and the headers.

Looks like $600 and they're 1 7/8 tubes.

I don't think it will but my installer is also a welder so I will have him eyeball it.

$600 for the set.

Update:

These were not plug and play. We ended up chopping off the cats and are now welding in the 3” mid-pipes.

These are excellent for $600

I would recommend cutting the flanges or welding them so they don’t flop around.

Just got back from a test drive and the car seems noticeably faster from 110-160mph. Down low it's very fluffy. Is this typical with Long Tube headers?

Obviously I'm going to need to get this tuned. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can add fuel everywhere in the map as a temp band aid until I can get to a dyno? Is it the MAF map? I'm pretty sure it's running lean.

The car sounds fantastic btw.

On my previous SS , I felt the same way about the headers after install. I always assumed it was with the tune on the car. Low end torque / mid range wasn’t crisp but top end was improved. Curious what others say. I’m sure they’ll mention a tune will improve it

You do need a tune when installing headers.

I don't have a ZL1; just a 2017 SS.

I was shocked at how much power long tube headers added to my car especially at 5000 RPM's and above to redline. And the HP and TQ didn't drop off near as much.

Peak to peak gains weren't changed but in the upper RPM's, for example at 6500, I gained about 50 hp and tq.

These engines respond to headers similar to adding a cam in a Gen4 engine.

You could add something like 10% to the entire MAF and VVE until you get it tuned. Or, you could tune the part throttle, see how much percentage you need to add down low, and then apply that everywhere. But honestly, I'd just leave it as-is and stay out of boost until you get it tuned with a wideband.

thanks everyone for the feedback. I tweaked a couple of things and the car is running very good. It should hold me until I fine tune on the dyno.
