3M Vinyl wrap...
Hello.
How does someone clean and protect a hood vinyl wrap? I would like something to clean it without damaging it. As well as something to protect it from the elements. Thx

I've been in the print/wrap/sign business for a long time. I've also had a my Trailblazer hood wrapped with the very popular 3M 1080 matte black. What we always told customers, and how I cared for my own hood was just regular car wash soap. All purpose cleaner for tough spots. No wax or sealant. 3M recommends this as well. I have to say I was totally impressed with the longevity of the 1080. Lasted WAY beyond the warranty, and to the day I sold the truck, it looked 99% as good as the day I installed it.
I have heard very good results from aftermarket "wrap" products and cleaners, but I have no experience with them, and 3M doesn't directly recommend them. -Nor do they recommend NOT using them. |
