HPDE Alignment Frequency '19 ZL1 1LE

I ran 4 sessions for a day at Sebring. The car felt really unstable at high speed during the final session so I put it on a rack at my local Chevy store after the event.

Pretty much everything in the rear and most settings in the front were out of spec. A friend said his '18 ZL1 1LE frequently needs realignment after several events.

I have other HPDE cars where it's a 'set it and forget it' affair unless I go off road or hit something.

Is this normal for the Camaro?

The rear bolts are TTY some people can get away with keeping them and reusing them but youre suppose to replace them after every use. Which is a little extreme to me. Front should stay put. But with how severe Sebring is, its likely they all worked out of spec.

The nuts are TTY also, and they don’t come with the bolts. You have to order them separately..,.😡

I end up realigning more often than I would like. I found the more I use curbs, the more often I need to align.

I was thinking that the Firestone lifetime alignment might be an option until it dawned on me that I'd have to go to Firestone...

I'll look into replacing the nuts and bolts.

Are there any reliable aftermarket solutions to hold the settings in place?

I have had the same experience with the alignment shifting on both street and track.
I replaced the tty bolts and followed the oddly high torque specs at my last alignment and it seemed to help. It’s still slipping, just less. It’s frustrating and an added cost to owning this car considering that my BMW’s held their alignments forever.

I have aligned my car 4+ times at this point and have never had anything move, after tightening down the nuts I use a paint pen to mark the location of the washer to the cradle and have yet to move one, but I haven't put it off of the track yet during a event to test if I can off-road with it yet.

Per BMR, it's the eccentric adjusters. I'm getting their rear toe rods, which ditch the eccentics, and replaces them with a fixed mount, with adjustable length toe rods.

Thanks for the info. Always had good luck and service from them, and the cost seems to offset getting more alignments

Nice. I'd love to hear from someone that has them installed.

Mine goes a out of spec every event. I just don't bother for a few events but laptimes slowly get worse and worse.....

Do any of your other cars have that issue on the track?

Same here. I got aftermarket toe arms for the rear but haven't found a solution for the front yet. Front's always toe out after track use, I do love riding the curbing, and I'm sure the extra stiff suspension makes it easier for the alignment to be knocked out of spec. Camber always stays in line though, its the damn toe.
