Greetings.
I have a problem with my Camaro 2018 SS. Problems that occur: 1) Strange sound coming from the transmission. Only heard when D or R is engaged. A sound like a metal scraping against a metal. Occasionally, a sound will appear as if someone has poured the screws into the washing machine. https://youtu.be/kGwxbIFcpsM Other defects are unexpected and random.: 2) From time to time, when accelerating, the transmission does not engage another gear. The engine is at full speed and the transmission is not responding. The transmission is engaged only after the gaseous release or with the passage of time. In this case, an unusually large blow from the exhaust follows. In the last month it happened about four times (Twice on the highway while overtaking.). 3) When braking at the traffic light, the transmission shifts into the next gear instead of the downshift. In this case it is necessary to apply twice the brakes as it is necessary to overpress the engine power. It has happened about twice in the last month. The service knows there is a problem, but since I live in the Czech Republic, they rely on technical support in Switzerland (?) To decide on repairs. The diagnostics did not prove anything. Since the faults are random, they did not show up in the test drive. As for the unpleasant sound, it is okay, according to Chevrolet. Statement on the sound I got in the email: "The acoustic noise by R and D was concluded to not be a reason for replacing the transmission." Has anyone encountered this problem ??? Any opinions ?? What to do next? |

Have you tried checking fluid levels? Also I'd try getting my hands on a 2nd hand cheap GoPro or some camera to film every drive until it happens and then take it to the dealership again (a camera is way cheaper than a tranny imo).
Anyways, since I also live outside the U.S currently, I get your struggles with bureaucracy |

This sound is fresh from service. They did transmission diagnostics, tests. The diagnostic was sent and then announced that everything was OK, even if the opposite was heard.
The sound has been disappearing lately. Probably the component has been completely abraded. I wonder what to do next. It is possible to film the defect. But complicated. |
