Can I pack a Canopy or large Umbrella in my 6th Gen?

Will it fit? I wanted to bring some shade to Bowling Green and there's going to be a few of us but no large vehicles.

I can fit a Coleman 10x10 pop-up canopy with the back seat folded down.

This one:

Yes. I can fit my Coleman 12x12 or Dicks Sporting Goods 10x10 in the car. I put the 12x12 in through the passenger door and then through the pass through to the trunk. The 10x10 fits through the trunk opening if you do it slowly. Use a towel to protect the area around the trunk lock from scratches and don't hit the speakers on the rear deck. Both of my canopys are the same height and extend about halfway into the rear seat area. The choice for me is one or the other - not both.

I can also fit in a small inverter generator and air compressor along with 2 folding chairs, two tool boxes, two fans, helmets, power and air stuff, and two soft-side R-TIC/Yeti coolers. For long trips (Hot Rod Power Tour) I also carry my Harbor Freight floor jack in case I get a nail or screw in a tire.

There is still room for a passenger and two airline carry-on sized baggage. It's pretty tight at that point but not an issue for ride or visibility if you pack smart. Stack stuff higher behind the drivers seat and leave the center and passenger rear area open so you can see out the rear window. Bungee cord the stuff in place and nothing will move around during normal driving.

That's about as self-contained as you can get without a trailer.

Remember that the rear trunk floor cover is very weak and won't support much weight without cracking. I put a piece of 1/2" plywood over the spare tire opening and some old blankets over the trunk floor to make it easy to slide stuff in and out and save wear/tear on the trunk floor cover.

Two of us in our local club routinely haul our 10x10 and 13x13 canopies in our convertibles.
I have a 5thgen ZL1 convertible that typically I load the canopy in the back seat with one end on the floor on the passenger side and the other end tilted up onto the seat on the drivers side.
My friend has a 2017 SS convertible, and he chooses a different way. He reclines the passenger front seat as far as he can and slides the seat rearward as far as it can go.
He then places the foot of the canopy in the front foot well on the passenger side and simply lets in recline backwards on the seat.

If we can do it in a convertible (top up or down, makes no difference) then people with coupes should have no problem.
