Wheels Protected During Shipping?

Are wheels (ZL1) protected while in transit?

Anyone have a pic?

I've only seen one ZL1 around here and it was on the road. But I've seen a ton of other Camaros on the truck, none had any covers on the wheels.

not that i know of. they're usually left uncovered.

Corvettes are the only vehicles I know of that gm applies any protection to

Only the body of the Corvette is protected. Wheels are uncovered.

I asked the driver what the deal was with that one. He said he had gone through a big rain storm and the cover was so wet and saturated that it got heavy and starting coming apart. He pulled over and took it off to prevent it from flying off and to keep it from causing damage by flapping around hitting the car.

He said it was pretty common with cars on front of the truck.

Thanks guys......have marks in near about the same place on each of my wheels....friend suggested they may have had a round plastic disc covering them and as they were removed (cut off) the damage might have been done.

I'm more inclined it was the reckless use of the power washer nozzel.

Are you sure it's not a grease pen mark? A lot of times, we get them in and they have a grease pen mark on the wheel and tire. I believe they use this to make sure the tires don't slip after balancing.

I had damage on the inside of 1 of my rear wheels. I think it was from having a tow strap wrapped around the rear wheel when the car was in transit.
