Wheels and suspension modifications
Hey guys, I have a 2016 1LT with the oem 18” wheels. I really wanna upgrade to the 20” inch wheels like on the rs models and up. If I were to upgrade to 20” without doing any suspension modifications yet, would I be left with a large fender gap?

No, the difference in height between the 245/50R18's and 245/40R20's is less than 2mm. switching the rears to the SS size of 275/35R20 is also less than 2mm difference, you won't even see it.

I have a 1LT also and changed my stock 18" out to 20's. I went with 20 X 10 square set up- Stance Rotary Forged with 2753520's. The outside diameter of the 2753520 tires is virtually the same as the 2455018 stock tires with the 18" wheels. I went with a 23 MM offset and the tires and wheels fit perfectly and clear the front struts nicely.
The stock wheels are 18 X 8.5 with offset of 32 MM. With the stock set up the tires and wheels sit quite a bit inwards of the fenders. I wanted a "flush" look with the 20 X 10's and a recommended offset was 23 MM, which I went with. I love the look of the new wheels so much better. But mine protrude about .25" from the fenders now. I ideally would have preferred if the wheels were flush. I don't know if I went with a bit more offset if the wheels would clear the struts in the front. Most guys go with staggered wheel set up and use a narrower wheel in the front. It's best do do your homework on wheel widths and offsets to get the perfect desired look you want!
