R888R 315/30

As I look at the DR options, the R888R seems to be closest to what I am currently running. To run the 315/30’s, I assume I will need to move the wiring harness.

1. Can anyone confirm these tires will fit?
2. Did you need to relocate the wiring harness?

Are you talking about the harness on the left rear ? I currently run a pilot cup 2 in 325-30-20 and have no rub on a ZL1 MRR 650 20x11. That harness is zip tied up in a little bit on the brake line out of the way. I went to drag strip yesterday and these new cup 2’s would not stick. I feel like they need a massive burnout to stick. They are sticky as hell on the road after 10-15 minutes. I know they aren’t for dragging but I rarely go to the track. It’s rough on the car. Lol. PM me if you have luck with the 888’s. I was expecting to run a 6.8-6.9 @ 100 in the 1/8th. I may have to buy and set of 18’s for the rear with DR’s to do so.

Do you have any pictures of your rear tires on those rims?

Yep. I was talking about the rear wiring harness. What did you end up running in the 1/8th?

Wow that looks great! I was thinking the R888s in 315 but maybe something in a 325 now

I will say it looks good and it uses all real estate available but I think a 315-30 would be less offset from the front to rear tire. With the 285-30 up front there’s a noticeable size difference and there are only a couple of 325-30’s made by tire companies so choice is slim although the Cup 2 is one of the best on the market.

I thought the 325/30 was what sledgehammer70 tried and it rubbed a hole in his liner?

My Mickey Thompson’s wore through. It’s an easy fix. So cheap insurance.

Ha, 2.08 ish. I can not get 1st to grip. the car is also lighting up the 1st- 2nd gear shift and requiring me to get out of it and back in. I'm going to drop the pressure in the tires to 22-24 ish and see if I can get a more accurate time to car should be running. Maybe this Saturday weather permitting. Maybe also try a 2nd gear start. With the Nitrous the torque is just killing my traction efforts...

ok on this, I was running a 315-35 prior to this tire. when I removed those, I noticed some rubbing on the front inside liner at about the 2 0'clock position. So at that point where there was rubbing from the 315-35, I put a 3/16" rivet with a washer to pull the liner up tight to the chassis. That gave me about 1/2" more real estate and with that done the 325-30 does not rub. Not sure if that's required for the 325-30 but it is required for the 315-35 since its a good bit taller than the 325-30. The rub appeared to be more of a height rub than width rub but regardless the rivet pulls the liner up and in to give an added 1/2" clearance both height and width.

Did you get to the track again? If so, what were the results?
