Which Grille/Bumper looks nicest?
Kind of hung up on which grille looks nicest for the Camaro SS in Summit White.
Left side is the ZL1 replica-style bumper and the right one is the regular SS bumper with the SEMA grille in red-accents added in.

I have the one on the right...the one on the left is nicer to me but prohibitively expensive.
You know AA has the SEMA ones with LED lights now, right?

Yes, the one on the right is when I want too - I know they have an LED one too, but I've noticed that from a certain angle at a further distance, the hood looks a little awkward, it's too thin and not ferocious enough for some reason and has a weird edging to it - after all this time, I think the ZL1 bumper shape is what takes that issue away for me, it's built a little more round and bigger taking up more distance looking more heavier and ferocious which is why I'm contemplating switching over, regardless of the amount it'll cost. |

I've never been a huge fan of making my car look like a higher trim model personally which is why I went with the sema grille...plus you know the price haha.

I installed a SEMA grille with red accents on my black (w/silver stripes) SS. I think it provides a nice subtle upgrade and matches the adrenaline red interior accents and the red Brembo brakes. Bill

I say the one on the right for sure. It looks clean and adds just enough flare without over doing it

Anyone noticed that the OEM V6, I4, and V8 models all have a weird angled shape on the front bumper? This was the same issue with the 5th gen models as well, it was always wavey and weird in the front when looking at it from a 45degree angle at a good distance of like 30+ feet away. The only way to take this problem away was to have a thick bumper like the ZL1 does - even in the photos I provided above, you can somewhat see the thin wavey front-end of the SS and the ZL1 bumper replica doesn't have that because it's so much larger and bolder in appearance so it looks like a more aesthetically solid/stronger car in the front. Also, I also am not a fan of making it look too similar to the ZL1, that's why I went originally with the SEMA grille, but the weird look at the 45 degree angle is really bothering me to have it changed again to the ZL1 clone.
Also, I figured the resale value would be better with the ZL1 bumper replica as opposed to the SEMA grille? Most would want things added to the Camaro within it's lineage that has resemblance, not random aftermarket parts from third-party companies? |
