Cleaning windshield (front and rear)

What method are you using to clean up your windshields?

Do you use any products for that?

Thanks!

I clean down to clear glass with windex and a microfiber pad that has a rough side.

I then apply a silica spray the is extremely hydrophobic.

Interesting.. I used to just wash it down with soap and a dry cloth.. Whats a good microfiber pad to use for glass?

For interior side of the windows, windex and shop towel (blue).
For ALL glass exterior: Rainx and shop towel (blue). By ALL, i mean ALL. Markers, LED's, tail lights, front lights, mirrors, windows. Rainx is amazing, I don't even bother using my windshield vipers 90% of the time. But then again, I've only driven my car in the rain twice because I had to.

I do use Rainx on at least the windshield of my truck and malibu.

I put Crystal Sealant on the windshield, clean with rinseless when I do a full rinseless wash, super clean and clear.

I use Adams Detail spray inside and out. The only thing I have found that never streaks.

I used Crystal Seal for the first time last weekend and did this same thing, but it left a film on my windshield the next day which was especially visible when I turned on the windshield wipers because of a mist. Do you wipe it off? Or just spread it on like the paint?

Wow, never had that issue. I have done CS once, getting ready to apply again soon. The 1st time my car had just been cleaned with a rinseless, windows were clean and clear. I apply the CS one panel at a time. When I am done with one panel I move to the next one. Once that one is done I go back to the previous panel and wipe down with a very thick high quality MF soft towel to level any high spots. Did the same thing with the windows. I only use a very small amount of CS, especially on the windshield, 1 - 2 small sprays at most for the windows, did not have any streaks or blurriness.

You gotta level crystal seal with a light buff after 10 min.....CS needs no hard buffing like a wax, but does need a wipe down on anything you use it on to level the high spots.

I looked into Rainx.. there were some awesome reviews but also some who complained of getting streaks that they could never take it off... and issues with fogging..

did you have such issues? whats the method you use to apply it?

Its pretty cheap to buy it!!!

I used Rainx for years and no matter how I buffed it, after a while, the wipers would streak it. Moved to the silica sprays, but rainx tprobably reformulated now if tr6 has no problem with it.

I use Stone Invisible Glass, it works great! You can pick it up locally (Walmart carries it) for half the cost, but here's the Amazon link to what I use. I also use a microfiber that's designed for glass.

This also works well cleaning the interior side of the front windshield, rear window, and sunroof.

Very interesting! I did it all wrong. I just put one spray on the pad and went one panel at a time lightly laying it on with circular motions, then going over with cross hatch. I did not come back and buff it with a soft microfiber.
