Not sure what the generic name is for these things, but anyone use them on their plates.

Essentially it is distort the plates unless viewed straight on.

Not even sure of there legality here in the People's RepubliK of Kalifornia.

They are illegal here in Texas, and I’m sure everywhere else that uses the cameras.

The nice thing is my local county won’t put a hold on your registration for nonpayment, so the stoplight tickets are unenforceable. All you have to do is return the envelope with instructions never to contact you about the debt again. No points and no hit on your credit.

Came across something called "NoPhoto" and it flashes a light to obscure the plate.

Only thing that really works, per my research, but $399.00 per "frame." IDK.

I am not in the habit of blowing red lights, but here in CA it is $490 if you do +1 point.

Came across this site that is amazing...

http://www.photoenforced.com/us.html#.WzQ62i0pnu0

Put in the zip code of wherever you are & it has all the locations of red light camera's, speed camera's & something I never heard of before, License Plate Reader Camera's (there are a ton in my area). 1984....

Any modification/obscurity to the plate is illegal in California.

This is the one that supposed to work. Just spray it on, you can't tell that there's anything on it until you take a picture with a flash. I would think that you would have to keep your plates clean all the time.

Illegal in Massachusetts as well.

Must be illegal just about everywhere, since most toll roads are now pay-by-plate if you don't have a transponder.

Until a police officer notices something odd about your tag @ night time when his headlights create some sort of crazy mirror reflection .. lol

You would probably be better off driving around with your plate in the trunk. The camera is useless without a plate. If a cop pulls you over for no plate;
"Oh, sorry officer, I took the plate off when I washed the car yesterday and I forgot to put it back on. Thanks for telling me this. I have the plate here in my trunk"
YMMV
