TIRE RACK BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

If you are in the market for tires, don't purchase them from Tire Rack! 2 weeks ago, my wife purchased a tire for her Caddilac. On this past Tuesday April 24, she noticed a huge knot on the side wall. She contacts them to get a warranty replacement, and these jackholes tell her they won't honor the warranty because the DOT# in their system doesn't match what they shipped! She took pictures and gave them all the information off the shipping documents. Obviouly it's a system error on their end! Freaking crooks! Buyers beware!

Interesting. I'm surprised that they're giving you so much trouble. I've been buying tires from Tire Rack for years, and they've always been A1 whenever I've had an issue. They sent me two wrong sized tires last season, and they overnighted me two more and sent me a return label without even so much as asking for a picture of the wrong tires.

How far up the chain did you escalate the issue? How many miles were on the tire when you noticed the knot? Have you talked to the shop that mounted and balanced them?

There's a lot of missing information here, but I don't think I'd give up yet...

Been calling for the past 2 days, and they insist they didn't make an error. They even had the nerve to say maybe the tire was somehow switched in transit! The hell does that mean? Still not my fault. The worst part about it is the hand write the numbers down but not on the packaging/shipping paperwork.

Contact the manufacturer, knots in sidewalls usually means a bad cord internally during manufacturing. Unless it took a hit.

They will probably get you a replacement tire.

I paid a road hazard warranty to Tire Rack! Someone on there and made a entry error! Had I know they would do this I would not have purchased a second tire. It's BS.

I shouldn't have to do that! I paid for road hazard thru them. I had to purchase another tire up front before they would start the warranty process. Had I know they would come back with a lame ass excuse to steal my money form the initial purchase, I would not have spent more money with them. Its BS, is what it is.

Man best thing to do is post your concerns on Facebook page and email customer relations tell them you need it to go up the chain. Someone in the company should reach out and attempt to investigate it more

sometimes it is cheaper to spend a little more on a item and buy from a local vendor.

call the presidents office, they should have a person there that handles complaints that the peons cant handle, works every time.
I have used them several times over a 20 year span and had no issues. They replaced a set of Yukon wheels that were peeling after a year.

Calling head office with a legitimate complaint usually results in a positive outcome.
Not just Tire Rack but any major chain.
Just be polite, have all the information and call.

Not always an option, and the local tire places will end up costing me $400 more for all four tires compared to the prices I can get on tirerack. It's absurd. I haven't had a problem with tirerack personally, I hope OP gets his situation sorted out. Sounds pretty crappy and not normally like tirerack. But it happens.

Over the years I've bought probably 40 tires from Tires Rack. When I put Duratracs on my truck we had a hell of a time getting them to balance. Ended up going through 2 complete sets before GoodYear got involved. Turns out there was a bad batch of them. Tire Rack worked with them to get it sorted out and each time they overnighted 4 truck tires to my installer.

Another time they sent me the incorrect size. My first call was to a customer service guy who told me they have verified the sizes before the tires shipped so I sent him a pick with the UPS label still on the tire. They couldn't argue anymore and had replacement tires to me the next day.

This will get straightened out. Tire Rack is the best place to buy tires online period!!
