Flowmaster XPipe

Has anyone installed the Flowmaster 81083 series xpipe on their gen 6 SS? I am interested in the difference in sound if any from the OEM xpipe.

Thanks!

While the sound difference would not be as drasatic as installing one of our Axle-back exhaust systems, our Scavenger Series X-Pipe will deliver a more race-like sound due to it removing the factory resonators. Additionally, these X-Pipes are designed to enhance performance by utilizing our D-port design for maximized exhaust scavenging and also replaces the heavily flattened section of the factory exhaust system. It makes a difference. I'd say like a 20% sound increase! Nothing crazy but sounds great paired with the NPP.

Thanks for the replies. Anyone have a sound clip with the x-pipe installed?

I'll have some customers try to upload it onto Youtube. Most of their cars are stored away for winter though.

I got the axle back from Flowmaster which accommodates the NPP valves and I love it! After that I ended up adding the Scavenger X pipe which removes the secondary resonators and I love the sound of the car now. It's really boss sounding now and has no drone all through the power band up to WOT. I couldn't be more happier with the end results of my car now. I'm thinking of doing headers at some point and I'm hoping to find a set that will marry up the Scavenger X as ARH told me at RPI30 that their headers will not mate up and I'd have to get their mid-section which will tie into the axle back. I'm not wanting to loose the mid section that I have now.

Can't wait to get my car out of winter storage....

This is prior to the Scavenger X Pipe install, axle back only and it sounds muscle car to me. I kinda run through each mode so you can hear the sound change with Ice/Snow being the least aggressive in sound. Now that the Scavenger X is in play it's totally awesome!

While our American Thunder Axle-back will fit the new ZL1s, fitment of our X-pipe is still pending. We hope to have an update soon!

It’s the best and I’ve always relied upon Flowmaster to hook me up with the sound I need. When weather breaks I’ll post up the complete setup with Scavenger X in play
